About Us
In 1986,
Patricia Russell opened Honey Bear Learning Center, with a mission to provide quality childcare benefiting the child, family, staff, and community.
Pat earned an A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Housatonic Community College, in 1986. She made the Dean's Honor List two years in a row and was elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges from 1985-1986.
Pat is a licensed Designated Head Teacher, a member of the NAEYC and the Bridgeport Preschool Director's Group. She is a former member of the Bridgeport School Readiness Council. She is also an Early Childhood Preschool Consultant.
Pat operates the Honey Bear office with two of her daughters, Cathie and Sara.

• CT Care 4 Kids Program Participant since 1986*
*We have participated with the CT State Dept. of Social Services since our inception, accepting daycare assistance on behalf of families in financial need. That program is currently named Care 4 Kids.
